HAMPTON — Third graders from across Franklin County visited the Fairgrounds on Thursday, Sept. 30 for an Ag Fair hosted by the Franklin County Farm Bureau. At the fair, students visited 14 stations where they learned about many aspects of modern agriculture. Even though Franklin County is made up of rural communities, many students do not grow up on farms or even have a chance to visit a farm. The Ag Fair is a chance for them to get up close to animals and other aspects of agriculture, so they have a better understanding of where their food, fiber, and fuel come from.
